Because every detail counts...

I worked for large companies and created many different designs using various materials for the home. I think that's when I fell in love with porcelain because it offers no limits to creativity. The smallest details matter a great deal to me at every stage.

I make hand-drawn sketches on graph paper; this way I can feel and visualize the creation in my mind. I think it's a bit like painting a picture. I can repeat the same line with my pencil several times because it's important to me that all the pieces are created in harmony, even if it's an organic form.

My passions are the beauty of nature, and it is undoubtedly my greatest source of inspiration. My inspiration comes from the nature of northern Norway, Sami culture, art, and the antique markets of Paris.

The creations are crafted from bisque porcelain to achieve a matte finish that reflects the raw material. Each piece has been meticulously hand-cut by skilled artisans to ensure crisp, fine lines and the porcelain's translucency. Excellence is reflected in every detail, promising you not just a vase, but a work of art that will stand the test of time. All pieces in the Spinn collection are handmade and unique.

Porcelain is a natural material composed primarily of a mixture of clay, feldspar, quartz, and kaolinite. These raw materials are heated and fired at very high temperatures (generally around 1200 to 1400 °C), which makes it hard, durable, and translucent. The combination of these ingredients gives porcelain its smooth, white, and delicate appearance.

Porcelain production involves several complex steps, often requiring skilled artisans and specialized equipment.

PROCESS :

The craftsman will first create a master mold in clay based on my drawing. From this master mold, he will make the plaster mold for production. Plaster molds need to be changed frequently due to the fine lines. The plaster mold will be composed of several pieces depending on the model.

They fill the mold with the clay liquid and seal the mold tightly.

The clay body must be naturally dry. Once dry, each piece will be hand-cut by skilled artisans to ensure the object's shape and that the edges are sufficiently thin.

Next, the body is cooked for the first time.

After the first firing of the object, the artisans proceed with the glazing, which, in my production, is done only on the inside of the object. Glazing the inside of the object also makes it waterproof.

When the object is dry, they bake it again at 1220 degrees.

Final inspection before packing all the items one by one.
