We absolutely adore Thailand and we will soon come back again.......
In summer 2018 me,my husband and our 2 girls Nina and Maya decided to make a sort of backpackers in Thailand. No regrets. It was so easy to travel in this amazing country. In each place we met friendly and generouse people .We started in the south to see to all these beaches with turquoise blue sea, their soft white sands ,nodding palms and cooling sea breezes. It was the place to do snorkling and see colorful fishes and corals. We were lucky to see a shark.
In the south we moved around with bus and ferries. After the Islands we took the bus up to Bangkok.Bangkok is the city where you have street food and sophisticated cuisine side by side, colorful markets and beautiful temples. In a way you can say it is chaos and smelly but what a charm and energie.
In the old city of Sukhothai we were travelling around with bicycles. It was like being in a postcard. It was amazing to see the contrasts of the enormous greyish old buddhas ,the blue sky and the old trees and light green grass. The name sukhothai means dawn of happiness and it was founded in the 1300s and became the country's first capital between the years 1238 and 1438. I promise you we felt happy there.
Chiang Mai was one of my favorite place and we stayed there for a longer time than planned. The wild nature and the walking trip with the elephants were amazing.Instead of riding the elephants or making them tricks we got to feed them with bamboo ,walking with them in the nature and bathing with them while cleaning them.We were lucky to meet the naughty baby elephant Walle who have a wonderful life. The Maerim elephant home really take good and respect the elephants. In the Poopoo parc we learned how to make colorful papers of the elephant poopoo.
What a beauty and what a mystery to see the Karen Long Neck people who follow their tradition of using brass rings .The Karen people were proud of their culture and their handicrafts which has been in their tradition for ages.In Chiang Mai we also visit many beautiful temples.
No doubt that we will come back to smiling Thailand
