For many this is a Scandinavian flat but if you make a deeper look inside you will see that it is a mix of different styles. My home reflect the mix of nature, Nordic whites, Paris romance and products picked on my travelling all over the world.
Buddha lady’s and jars from China, Indian lady pillows, photos from the English colony time and old antique wood horse from Jaipur in India. The Door mirror I found in the street in Paris. The porcelain and ceramic is designed by myself. You can also see pieces that I found in the antique markets in Paris. The appearance of greens and fresh flowers is a reflexing that I’m been working as a florist for 10 years in Norway. I always need to have fresh flowers at home.
This is the space where we gather for dinner and breakfast. The dinner table is the tulip table by Saarinen, mixed with chairs from Phillip Starck and Hans J Wegner. The thin black book case is an old school book case that has been remade in new colour. This one I bought in the antique market, as well as the lamp from seventies. The picture on the wall is from a Japanese artist Shu made in 1989.
The porcelain designed by myself surrounded with antique pictures taken from the English colony period in India and a photo of my husband's grandparents.
More of my porcelain pieces designed for Sia and an old antique picture from Jaipur.
Pictured here are pillows with Indian ladies on them bought in Jaipur mixed with fur from the North Of Norway. The door mirror I found on the Parisian streets. These small masks on the wall are passports from Africa. The Industrial lamp comes from India. The porcelain and ceramic vases are designed by myself. The photo of the close up tulip is taken by Grethe Arnstad from Norway.
Close up picture of my vases in porcelain and ceramic.
This paper lamp that makes a beautiful light is designed by Charlot & Cie. The chair that we all fight to sit in is the rocking designed by Charles Eames, and the Small table was bought in the antique market.
This is my collection of antique figurines from China and India. An old wood horse bought in New Delhi, Buddha ladies from south of China. The picture “ the road back to the middle part”is from a Swedish artist, Maria Herd taken in 1990.
Antique jars from China mixed with all styles of picture. I like this mix of old and new.
In the entrance there is an old rattan chair with a fur from North Norway. The mask is from the Berber in Morocco. The shoes are made in Norway and inspired of the way the Sami people make their shoes. The metal wardrobe is a money safe that we found in an antique market in Paris. We are using it for our shoes. It is really heavy, weighing around 300 kilos. We needed three people to bring it up to our flat and now it is impossible to get out. My husband seems to be happy it won’t follow us.
The spice furniture and the old coffee machine come from my grandmother Nina. Every time I see them I think of her. Some of the bowls are antiques from China and some of them are new.
