Finnmark- the lost land in the far north of Norway

Beside the sea on its lonesome you can see this monument "Drakkar" looking at Skagen in Vardø. It is made of the remains of a Viking ship, a dinosaur and a whale posing to the sky. He guards Bussesundet and show the way so that people at sea can continue to find their way to Vardø.
This is a present to Vardø from Arkhangelsk.Designed and built by 3 young wood craftsmen from Arkhangelsk.

Along the road to Hamningberg you see rocks like the ones on the photographs below.Sometimes it feels like you are on another planet with the rocks towering on the both side of car.The contrast with the glittering blue sky and the rocks make it more spectacular.

You can't get further than Hamningberg however, because the road stop there. It is the end of Europe.

This beautiful county has many things to offer you like midnight sun, nordhern lights and a fauna and flora full of surprises. Not to mention;Clear blue skies and clear blue-green water,an indescribable smell, unmatched silence and this amazing in feeling that you are all alone with the reindeers at the "vidda" for thousands of kilometers.

Finnmark is the northern most and eastern most county in Norway. The environment varies from barren coastal areas facing the Barents Sea, to more sheltered fjord areas and river valleys with gullies and tree vegetation.

The interior parts of the county are part of the great Finnmarksvidda plateau, with numerous lakes and river valleys. The plateau is famous for its tens of thousands of reindeers owned by the Sami.
